The instructions
The portable salt maker SAL⊥ is a tale of tradition and hard work which cherishes the rich culinary culture of the Mediterranean and the time-honored tradition of sea salt harvesting, by mimicking the sustainable, manual process used for millennia in the region. When exposed to light or heated up in the oven, its vessel transforms concentrated Adriatic seawater into precious solid crystals, which are then harvested by hand and served with a inox T-shaped tool.
The portable salt maker comprises a minimalist ceramic vessel coated with a waterproof enamel to enable optimal salt crystallization and salt properties preservation. Crafted and hand-finished by Croatian pottery artisans and woodworkers, it comes in a sleek elegant case in curly maple wood—a highly prized material in the world of design, due to its versatility, resistance, and stunning visual appeal with distinctive curls, waves, and unique grain patterns.
